Overview of Grant
Creating Healthy Schools and Communities (CHSC) is a public health grant funded project that uses a community-based participatory approach to reduce risk factors of obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases by building on existing community assets and coalitions. Specifically, CHSC implements evidence-based physical activity and nutrition strategies to increase access to healthy, affordable foods and opportunities for safe physical activity for all. By partnering with local school districts and their communities, environments are created that support and sustain positive attitudes and behaviors about foods and physical activity.
